WHO ARE THE PLAINTIFFS?
The plaintiffs in this lawsuit are 45 residents of Kanagawa Prefecture, mainly in the vicinity of the power plant, but also including residents of Chiba Prefecture on the other side of Tokyo Bay. Three of the plaintiffs are under the age of 20, including one 7-year-old elementary school student.
All have chosen to become plaintiffs in an effort to protect the living environment for themselves, and for the children and grandchildren of the future. Six months after the lawsuit was filed, three fishermen and others joined the group, bringing the total number of plaintiffs to 48.
